It’s going to be a two-part because there’s a double way. And I’m going to give you the strategy so, it’s a lot easier for you to go in and do this. The very first thing that I want to share with you a way to get wikipedia links.

All right! So what I’m doing for this is going to be type in google like this – site: wikipedia.org”keyword”intext”deadlink”. Now what we’re doing is! we’re looking for pages on wikipedia that currently are missing one of two things. Now those one of two things are either a citation, you need to give a reference/citation to something and that’s the strategy that I’m going to share with you.

And also it’s going to be a dead link meaning that there was something but now you can link to a more relevant page, because the page that was there is now no longer relevant.

Now, a lot of people will think this is a no follow link. Yes, but links again are more than just building for power.

We’re looking for topical relevance, we’re looking for entity building. This is one of the most highly relevant pages on the web and I have a link going to one of my assets and then I’m going to throw something in there that’s going to help you even more. So let me go ahead and get into that. Now what you’re going to end up finding if you scroll on down. Here, it’s searching for dead link.

Now while doing this, what I came across is an easier way. I came across this tool – WebFX. This tool makes it very easy to find this you. Put a keyword let’s say laptops. We do a search and then it’s going to give me either dead links and or citations.

Now, this way we’re able to go in and we can now create a reference. But you’ll probably say it’s actually relatively hard to get these to stick.

So that’s the second part of this strategy. I’ve now first showed you how can I find these wikipedia pages that are related to my brand business or service.

But let me show you, how you can get them to stick because when we’re talking about an authoritative domain. If we want something to stick how we do that is what we put in place is another high quality domain. So, what I found to get to be able to stick very easy is actually YouTube videos.

So, let me just share with you a quick example – if we look at “click through rate manipulation”. For CTR this is just one that I have, what I did is I kept adding in stuff.

Now there’s a couple things here because we know the propensity for a link to be clicked is going to increase the power of a link. Now, just because a link is no follow does not mean that it’s not crawled, does not mean that it doesn’t pass relevance/topical relevance. It doesn’t mean that it’s not a valuable asset to have.

Now, what I’m getting at this, if we scroll on down and we look at these entities/references.

What I found is if you have something that’s highly relevant and it’s on an authoritative domain whether it’s a new site whether it’s from a press release, it will be better for your website. So, if we look down here we have a citation and then if you found your name and click on link. Boom! that’s your video.
